Rockstar Games Increases Pricing for GTA+ Subscription Service: What You Need to Know
Rockstar Games’ primary GTA Online-focused subscription service, GTA+, is set to experience an increase in price without any official notification. This development is expected to further disappoint fans of Grand Theft Auto Online who were already critical of the service.
As originally reported by Rockstar Intel, GTA+ subscribers are facing an uptick in costs, with the service’s monthly fee set to increase by $2 USD on both Xbox and PlayStation platforms. This signifies a shift from the previous $5.99 to a new rate of $7.99 per month, effective as of June 11, 2024. Rockstar Games has remained mum on the rationale behind this price adjustment, with the alteration first spotted by vigilant users scouring through the official Xbox and PlayStation storefronts.
Regarding GTA+, Rockstar has made efforts to enhance the service’s value in recent months. Notably, they’ve integrated several older games into GTA+, such as Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy – The Definitive Edition, GTA: Liberty City Stories, GTA: Chinatown Wars, and Red Dead Redemption. Additionally, L.A. Noire and Bully are slated for inclusion later this year. While the price increase may draw criticism from fans, the added benefits, including those from GTA Online, might sway some to maintain their memberships rather than discontinuing them altogether.
